World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage each time it is upgraded.
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using standard methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. In the endgame you'll find that the best way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. item upgrades is referred to as "upping". When the player upgrade the equipment they have the original item will be replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This can be a disadvantage because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do so. Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons.
